OARCA’s Secretary and Treasurer are currently paddling a double kayak as part of the Race to Alaska (https://r2ak.com/). They are Team Oaracle and you can follow their progress live at: https://r2ak2022.maprogress.com/#

Our team is amazing and doing up to 40 nautical miles a day! They have had to slow down occasionally for interviews. Most recently they were interviewed NPR. Hear the interview at: https://www.npr.org/2022/06/19/1106125435/the-race-to-alaska-is-750-miles-on-a-boat-with-no-motors-and-no-support

Our team also made the front page of the Victoria local paper. Have a look at that story at: https://www.timescolonist.com/local-news/to-ketchikan-by-kayak-victoria-couple-tackles-epic-race2alaska-5484692

There are two, women’s double rowing teams in the race as well. Team “Let’s Row Maybe?” and “Don’t Tell Mom.” And a single female rower as Team Interstice. All are doing well. Hurray for the ladies!
