Speaker Series 1: Rowing Across the Atlantic Ocean
By: Julien Bahain OLY
When: Sunday, February 8, 2026 @ 5pm PST

Join us on Sunday, February 8th @ 5pm PST for a virtual presentation by Julien Bahain OLY on his row across the Atlantic Ocean. What is most notable about Julien’s decision to do this row is that he is basically afraid of water. So learn how he managed to overcome his fear and make it across the Atlantic.

These presentations will be recorded so if you are unable to join the evening of the talk keep an eye out on this website for a link to the recording.

We always need help from volunteers for our regattas, with the first one on April 19th – Cadborosaurus. If you’d like to learn more about putting on a coastal regatta, we’d love to have you join us. Just contact us via “membership @ oarca. org” (remove all spaces).

Do you have an idea for an event that you’d like OARCA to consider? Let us know! We are keen to hear ideas.

We are getting organized for events in 2026. Check out the calendar for updates regarding regattas and our Speaker Series. We’ll also have a pool self-rescue session that will be open to all OARCA members and the UVic Coastal Rowing Club. Registration information will be posted in the calendar description, so keep an eye open for that.
