Olympic rower Lassi Karonen (SWE) described coastal rowing: “The similarity (with flat-water rowing) is the movement of the stroke, everything else is different.”

Believe me, my young friend, there is nothing — absolutely nothing — half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats.
