What is this? A great opportunity to try sliding seat rowing on the ocean in very stable rowing boats. Coastal rowboats are designed to handle a variety of water conditions and are great boats for first timers to try. We will row mainly in quads (4 people rowing + coxswain to steer) and these boats are REALLY stable. Smaller boats (doubles) may also be available. OARCA Rowing Club will provide all the necessary rowing & safety gear (oars, PFDs, VHF radio, flares, etc) along with coaches and other support personnel.
What should you wear? Comfortable non-baggy clothes, hat, sunglasses, windbreaker (depends on the weather) and footwear (neoprene may be best) to protect your feet from rocky shore/beach. You will be getting into the boat at the beach without the use of a dock, so be prepared for wet feet.
Bring change of clothes and food/drink for after. And remember to have FUN!
