9am to 12 noon @ Tulista boat ramp in Sidney, B.C
A FREE EVENT!
Open to all aged 12* and over.

NATIONAL COME TRY ROWING & WORLD OCEANS DAY
June 8th is World Oceans Day as well as National Come Try Rowing Day. What a better way to celebrate both than coming out to try coastal rowing! Join us for a chance to try rowing in wide, stable, coastal boats. No previous experience needed. Rowing Canada Aviron Certified Coaches will be there to help you with the basics, and there will be experienced volunteers in the boat as well. Most important is to have fun!
*Participants under 19 need to be accompanied by a responsible adult who stays onsite.
How to Join In?
We have set aside 10 seats for booking but will try to accommodate drop-ins as space allows. There are time slots every half hour starting at 9:00am with the last one at 11:30am. We finish at noon.
If you want to be sure of a seat, sign up via the Rowing Canada registration page. The sign-up sheet will close Saturday night around 10pm. Of course, you can also drop by and if there is space, we’ll do our best to get you in a boat.
If you are just curious what this is all about, come on down. We love talking about coastal rowing.
For a bit more information, including what to wear if you wish to row, we have a simple page outlining the event.
How to get there?

Tulista Park is easily accessible by public transit (bus #72, bus stop at the north end of Tulista near Ocean Ave, by the skateboard park), and bike (follow the Lochside trail). Bike racks are located near the ArtSea building. If you prefer to drive, there is plenty of free parking on Ocean Ave, Weiler Ave. or Lochside Dr. And of course, it is easy walking distance from Sidney.
